Philipp-Schwartz-Initiative for Threatened Researchers

Deadline for internal expressions of interest July 7, 2025 ::: The program enables universities to host international scholars who are at risk for 24 months.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has launched the 16th call for applications for the Philipp Schwartz Initiative. This programme provides universities and research institutions in Germany with the means to host threatened foreign researchers for a period of 24 months on a fully funded research scholarship. Central units will support scholars hosted at the University of Freiburg before and during their stay.

The application deadline for the 16th call for application for the Philipp Schwartz Initiative is August 22, 2025. Please note that expressions of interest need to be submitted internally at the earliest possible date, at the latest until July 7, 2025.
