University of Freiburg and Nagoya University Enter New Phase of Collaboration

The University of Freiburg welcomed a delegation from its close partner, Nagoya University, on 20-21 November 2023 During the visit led by Professor Sugiyama, President of Nagoya University, key agreements were signed, ushering in a new era of partnership.

These agreements encompass academic exchanges and joint research projects aiming to enrich the experiences of students, doctoral candidates and faculty at both universities. The partnership builds upon a decades-long successful collaboration. The new agreements emphasize the future efforts of both universities to achieve excellent results in research and teaching, thereby contributing to addressing global challenges.

The partners agreed on a four-year work plan (2023-26) for joint activities, including, for example, a seed funding programme (Joint Research Advancement Programme) for collaborative research projects.
