1. Regular Stays

Self-organized semester stays
3–6 months

Research stays for final theses
10 weeks – 6 months

Internships abroad
10 weeks – 6 months

Scholarship: Monthly partial scholarship, travel allowance (see DAAD list) 

Application deadlines:
For stays starting between 01.01.2026 and 29.02.2026: 18.11.2025
For stays starting between 01.03.2026 and 20.07.2026: 20.01.2026
For stays starting on or after 21.07.2026: 16.06.2026

2. Short Stays

Research stays for final theses
4 weeks – 9 weeks + 6 days

Internships abroad
6 weeks – 9 weeks + 6 days

Scholarship: Travel allowance (see DAAD list) (link)

Application deadline:
Applications can be submitted continuously until 16.06.2026, but no later than four weeks before the planned start date, as long as there is still funding available for the 2026 calendar year.

From 17.06.2026, students may also apply for travel allowances for longer stays starting in 2026, if funds are still available.

Please always try to apply early and well before the respective deadline to ensure there is enough time to correct any mistakes or missing documents!
